Sheila Joy Olt was born in Brooklyn and raised in Staten Island and Middletown, New Jersey. She has dedicated her career and life to serving others through community development, healthcare, and nonprofit leadership. Sheila previously worked in community development with the Christopher Reeve Foundation, where she supported initiatives aimed at improving quality of life and access to resources.
She currently works as a home healthcare worker, providing compassionate, hands-on care and support to individuals and families in need. A committed volunteer since the age of 19, Sheila has contributed her time and leadership to numerous nonprofit organizations. She has served as the Executive Director of Daniela’s Wish since its inception in 2014, working closely with the organization’s president, Daniela, and a dedicated board of community leaders. Together, they grant wishes to children who are ill or have experienced traumatic events, bringing hope, joy, and healing to families during difficult times. Sheila’s lifelong commitment to service reflects her deep belief in community, compassion, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
